40HOURS X-RAY COURSE FOR MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS

2. Film reviewing sessions using hundreds of films produced by GP clinics themselves

Introduction
This 5-days course is specifically designed to create awareness on ionising radiation. This is an important aspect of radiation protection in order to protect the safety of staffs, patients and public. This course will also cover Act 304, radiographic techniques, radiological anatomy and pathology. Sessions on film critiques and film reading will make this program unique and interesting.

Programmes Objectives
 To provide understanding of the philosophy and principle of radiation protection for medical application
 To familiarise with the components, function, operation and control of x-ray and other associated equipment
 To acquire skills needed to obtained optimal chest and extermities radiographs
 To familiarise with the procedures in film processing in order to produce image of acceptable quality
 To be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal films.
 To be able to diagnose common pathologies seen in general practice.
 To understand the need of the patient while undergoing x-rays.
 To understand legal aspects of running an x-ray centre.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

o Changing the name of license holder
